Chacewater Players was formed in 1978 by a group from the village. It has performed pantomimes, Plays and musicals over the last 40 years. The company was started in the old village hall and there are plenty of stories from the old hall. The most memorable one was when during the one pantomime in January and it was snowing outside and the cast used to use an outside portaloo, it was so cold that is froze.
Thankfully now, the society now have the luxury of the new, (warm) village hall. Over the years Chacewater Players have improved the lighting, sound and stage area of the hall, the next phase is to change the stage lighting to LED, to reduce it’s carbon footprint.
Over the years several people have taken on the roles of the organisation, with numerous Directors, Choreographers and we are especially thankful for thehomegrown writers of the pantomimes each year.
